Softball Swept in Sunday Doubleheader at Transylvania
(LEXINGTON, Kentucky) - The Wilmington College softball team lost both games on the road Sunday against a Transylvania team that is 27-8 on the season. The Quakers lost game on 8-0 and game two 14-2. The team is now 17-20-1 overall this season and 5-11 in the OAC.

Thirty-Three Spring Student-Athletes Earn Academic All-OAC Honors
Academic All-Conference selections have at least a cumulative 3.5 grade-point average (GPA) at the end of the semester preceding the end of the spring season and be a sophomore academically or above. The student-athlete must also be a member of a varsity team, in a sport sponsored by the league, as well as be enrolled in a full-time capacity.

Carter Named Second Team All-OAC
Carter, who graduated from WC with a degree in exercise science in three years, was one of the team's leaders in batting average at a .376 clip while also tallying 44 hits, two triples and two home runs. She drove in 16 runs, stole a Quaker-best 11 bases and carried a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage playing primarily left field.

The two games at Wilmington will be played in honor of Rosie Cook, the mother of Wilmington Assistant Coach Jillia Cook, who is currently battling lung cancer. She will throw out the first pitch of game one. Donations will be collected throughout the OAC on Saturday and sent to Saint Baldricks in Salem, Ohio.

Ari Layne Garners OAC Softball Hitter of the Week Honors
A native of Middletown, Ohio, Layne hit a .563 clip over the week along with an astounding slugging percentage of 1.188. She hit three home runs on the week, two of which came in her first collegiate game, and drove in eight RBIs. Layne played defensively in both the infield and the outfield for the Fightin' Quakers in their season-opening, non-conference series against Otterbein University.

Record-breaking season comes to end
A record-breaking season for the Wilmington College softball team came to an end Saturday as the Lady Quakers were swept by Mount Union, 3-0 and 5-1, at 23rd Street Field. Wilmington finished the season, 20-16 overall, 5-13 OAC. The 20 wins marked the most in school history, and it was the first winning season as well.
