Chua, Reinhart record 4.0's as 24 earn academic honor

AUSTINTOWN – Twenty-four Wilmington College student athletes were amongst the 366 student athletes named Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference for their academic achievements.

Sophomore Rachel Reinhart (Hilliard, OH/Davidson; Athletic Training/Exercise Science) and junior Joshua Chua (Lancaster, England/Claremont [CA]; Sport Management) were the two Wilmington College student-athletes to achieve a 4.0 GPA.

Chua led the baseball team, which had a school-high eight recipients. Joining the outfielder on the academic list were sophomore Derek Burk (Lucasville, OH/Valley; Education/History, 3.86), sophomore Jared Ferenchak (Concord, OH/Notre Dame Cathedral Latin; Sport Management, 3.86), junior Daniel Hayes (Beavercreek, OH/Beavercreek; Sport Management/Business Administration, 3.53), sophomore Joey Hollback (Salem, OH/Sebring McKinney; Agriculture, 3.58), junior Bryant McCarty (Russia, OH/Russia; Exercise Science, 3.54), Keith Hayes (Beavercreek, OH/Beavercreek; Sport Management/Business Administration, 3.543), and sophomore Shane Hale (New Lebanon, OH/Dixie; Sport Management, 3.50).

Reinhart was one of four women's lacrosse players – junior Abby Engelhart (Westerville, OH/North; Political Science/English, 3.80), junior Megan Wieloch (Canton, MI/Plymouth; Athletic Training, 3.63) and junior Summer Wilbur (Ludington, MI/Manchester; Education/English, 3.59) - to earn the league's academic award.

Softball had the second most student-athletes honors with five, led by junior Sawyer Hooper (Leesburg, OH/Wilmington; Education, 3.98). Junior Savannah Hooper (Leesburg, OH/Wilmington; Biology, 3.95), senior Becca Carpenter (South Charleston, OH/Southeastern; Criminal Justice, 3.75), junior Micalah Hensley (Houston, OH/Houston; Biology, 3.75) and junior Meranda Wilson (Marysville, OH/Marysville; Business Administration/Communications, 3.52) were the other softball members to earn the academic honor.

Women's track and field had three representatives, sophomore Sarah Pierce (New Carlisle, OH/Dominion Academy; Sport Management, 3.61), junior Calla Henry (Connersville, IN/Connersville; Agriculture/Chemistry, 3.67) and junior Zara Zeller (Troy, OH/Covington; Business Administration, 3.78).

Seniors Reid Delaney (Wooster, OH/Wooster; Business Administration, 3.99) and Andrew Esselstein (Dayton, OH/Archbishop Alter; Biology, 3.61) represented men's lacrosse, while senior Travis Scheadler (Loveland, OH/Goshen; Psychology, 3.96) and sophomore Matt Baker (Liberty Center, OH/Liberty Center) were the men's track and field representatives.
