WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College softball team hosts John Carroll University (JCU) for an Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) doubleheader slated to begin at 3 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington and JCU. The Fightin' Quakers are 12-4 on the season after sweeping Berea College in an away doubleheader on Wednesday. The Blue Streaks are 9-7 overall and face Ohio Wesleyan University on the road on Thursday.

The Coaches: Beth Floyd is in her 12th season as Wilmington's softball head coach. She is the winningest softball coach in school history and is also the College's associate director of athletics. Floyd has led the Quakers to seven double-digit win campaigns as well as the program's first winning season with a 20-16 record in 2013. Nicole Loudin is in her sixth season as JCU's head softball coach while Cori Collinsworth enters her second campaign leading the Hanover program.

The Hitters: Both Allison Pierce and Hayley Suchland are batting over a .450 clip while Pierce, who carries a .475 batting average, leads the team with six doubles. Pierce is also joined by Alecia Kemp and KenDahl Bowles to have driven in over a dozen runs. Suchland leads Wilmington in stolen bases with five. Lindsay McKnight leads JCU with a .471 batting average, 24 hits, three home runs and 17 RBIs.

The Pitchers: Grace Shell, once named the OAC Pitcher of the Week, leads the Wilmington pitching staff in innings pitched (53.1), ERA (1.18) and strikeouts with 50. Alexis Stringfellow has been the Quakers' second starter for much of the season and carries a 2.45 ERA in 25.2 innings pitched.
