WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College softball team heads to Heidelberg University in search of a pair of Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) victories on Friday. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington and Heidelberg. The Quakers enter the matchup with an even 10-10 overall record and looking for their first conference victory after falling to Muskingum University in a twinbill at home on Tuesday afternoon. The Student Princes are 12-13 overall and 2-2 in OAC games after defeating Capital University in two games on Monday.

The Coaches: Beth Floyd is in her 16th season as Wilmington's softball head coach. The winningest softball coach in school history, she also heads the College's coaching minor. Floyd has led the Quakers to the program's first winning season with a 20-16 record in 2013. Mary Briggs, a 2016 alumna of Grand Valley State University, is in her fourth season as Heidelberg's head coach. Last year, she guided the Student Princes to a 20-16 overall record and a 9-9 OAC mark. 

The Hitters: Two Quakers - Judaea Wilson and Lindsey Carter - hit over .450 for the season with Wilson leading the way at a .474 clip. Both have tallied over 30 hits while Logann Julian and Samantha Schwab combine to drive in 34 runs. Carter, Rachel Berry and Olivia Doll join Julian and Schwab to notch double-digit RBIs on the season. Emma Dean leads the Heidelberg offense in several offensive categories including: batting average (.493), hits (37), doubles (14) and RBIs (20). Meghan Bame, Ellie Tressler and Jade Torres have all driven in at least a dozen runs. 

The Pitchers: Wilmington has used four pitchers primarily as Avree Entler, Alexis Stringfellow, Izzy Rothrock and Hillary Huffer have all pitched at least 25 innings. Stringfellow has tallied four wins, Entler leads the team in innings pitched with 34.2 and Rothrock has notched 23 strikeouts. Jessica Voitko leads the Heidelberg pitching staff with 69.1 innings pitched, seven victories and an ERA of 2.32.

Series History: Wilmington is 11-17 against Heidelberg since the 2009 season. The Student Princes won both matchups last season. More information on the series history can be viewed by visiting the link above.
