Shilling named OAC Hitter of the Week

AUSTINTOWN – For the second straight week, the Ohio Athletic Conference honored a Wilmington College softball player.

This time it's senior Catlin Shilling (Waverly, OH/Waverly), who was named OAC Hitter of the Week after posting an astonishing .778 batting average over four games.

"Catlin is seeing the ball extremely well," said Wilmington head coach Beth Floyd. "All her hard work is paying off. She is truly explosive and versatile on offense. I'm very proud of her."

Shilling went 7-for-7 with five runs scored, two homeruns and three RBI in Wilmington's non-conference sweep of Hanover. In two games against Hanover, she went 4-for-7 with two homeruns, a double, five RBI and three runs scored.

On the season, she is hitting .462 with 10 runs scored, four homeruns, a double, a triple and 12 RBI.

Wilmington (6-7 overall) hosts Thomas More 3 p.m. Wednesday in a non-conference doubleheader.
