Former Aviators fly into Wilmington

WILMINGTON, OH – Wilmington head softball coach Beth Floyd has announced the first wave of new commitments for the upcoming season.

Ashley McCray (Vandalia, OH/Butler) and Sydney Kelly (Cincinnati, OH/Sycamore) have pledge their intention to join the WC softball team, and each have paid their school deposits.

McCray played for Cortney Bastain at Butler High School, where she was a two-time honorable mention selection. She was named the Aviators' MVP and earned the four-year varsity award. She is the daughter of Mike and Annette McCray.

Kelly comes to Wilmington after hitting .324 for the Aviators with a Greater Miami Conference-high seven homeruns and 24 RBIs. The first team All-GMC selection, added 14 runs scored with four doubles and two stolen bases. She earned four varsity letters in her high school career, playing for Mark Weigel. She is the daughter of Scott and Stacy Kelly.

Wilmington is coming off a school-record 20 victories, and recorded the first winning season in school history.
