WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College Softball team begins its 10-game home stand with two Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) games against Capital University on Tuesday. The first game is scheduled to start at 3 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington and Capital. The Quakers are 9-13 overall and 2-10 in the OAC, after a series loss to Marietta this past Saturday. The Crusaders are 6-22 overall and 2-8 in the OAC after a series loss to Muskingum University.

The Coaches: Beth Floyd is in her 11th season as Wilmington's softball head coach. She is the winningest softball coach in school history and is also the College's associate director of athletics. Nan Payne is in her 19th season as the head coach for the Lady Crusaders. The Crusaders have won 20 or more games in 18 of Payne's 19 seasons as head coach.

Hitters to Watch: Junior Allison Pierce is leading the Quakers with a .354 batting average along with 11 RBIs to go along with her 23 hits on the season. Savannah Hooper has a team leading 27 hits so far as well as her 11 stolen bases. Hooper is hitting .351 so far with two RBIs and 19 runs scored. Sophomore Cory Mangen is hitting a team high .357 for the Crusaders; Mangen has 30 hits to go along with her one homerun, 14 stolen bases and five RBIs so far this season.

Pitchers to Watch: Beth Presicano and Grace Shell have continued to share time for the Quakers as both of them have hurled at least 70 innings. Presicano is 4-8 with a 4.16 ERA this season with 37 strikeouts while Shell is 5-5 with a 3.38 ERA to go along with her 53 strikeouts. Junior Brianna Reardon leads the Crusaders with 110 innings pitched as well as her 25 appearances. Reardon is 5-15 overall this season with a 5.60 ERA.
