WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College softball team hosts Ohio Northern University for an Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) twinbill at the WC Softball Complex on Wednesday. The series is slated to begin at 3 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington and Ohio Northern (ONU). The Quakers enter the contest with a 10-12 overall record and in search of their first conference victory after a pair of 6-0 defeats at Heidelberg University on Friday. The Polar Bears are 12-10 and an even 3-3 in league games after sweep Muskingum University in two tight games on Friday. ONU hosts Mount St. Joseph for two games on Tuesday.

The Coaches: Beth Floyd is in her 16th season as Wilmington's softball head coach. The winningest softball coach in school history, she also heads the College's coaching minor. Floyd has led the Quakers to the program's first winning season with a 20-16 record in 2013. Jackie Price, a 2012 ONU alumna, is in the midst of her seventh season as the Polar Bears' head coach. ONU has won nearly 150 games during her tenure.

The Hitters: Two Quakers - Judaea Wilson and Lindsey Carter - hit nearly .450 for the season with Carter leading the way at a .452 clip to go along with eight stolen bases. Logann Julian and Samantha Schwab have combined to drive in 34 runs while Wilson has crossed the plate 22 times. Callie Rosser has tallied 25 hits and carries a .342 batting average with 12 RBIs for ONU. All three are tops on the team in those categories.

The Pitchers: Wilmington has used four pitchers primarily as Avree Entler, Alexis Stringfellow, Izzy Rothrock and Hillary Huffer have all pitched at least 25 innings and have ERAs in the low 4.00s. Rothrock has struck out 23 batters while Entler has hurled a team-high 39 innings. Ashley Lenser and Allie Bican have pitched all but 3.3 innings for the Polar Bears. Lenser has a 7-4 record while Bican has struck out 58 batters.

Series History: Wilmington is 7-21 against ONU since the 2009 season. The Quakers have won four of the last six meetings, however. More information on the series history can be viewed by visiting the link above.
