Grace Shell Named OAC Softball Pitcher of the Week

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio - Wilmington College sophomore Grace Shell has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Softball Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.

Shell finished the Fightin' Quakers' annual spring trip to Florida with a 4-0 record including all four being complete games and a 0.74 earned run average. She also struckout 25 batters and pitched in relief once, earning a one-out save. Shell garners OAC Pitcher of the Week honors for the second time in her career having also won the award after Wilmington's 2018 Florida trip.

"Grace [Shell] did an outstanding job for us in the circle last week," Head Softball Coach Beth Floyd said. "She's a competitor on the mound and threw a great mix of pitches while hitting her spots."

Wilmington completed its spring trip with an 8-2 record, tying the program's best start to a season. The Quakers open OAC play at Muskingum University on Saturday.
