WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College softball team opens Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) play with a doubleheader at Baldwin Wallace University on Sunday (note the day change). First pitch is slated for 1 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington and Baldwin Wallace (BW). The Quakers enter the weekend with a 10-6 record having split a pair of games at Anderson University on Tuesday. The Yellow Jackets are 8-8 and most recently split a twinbill at the College of Wooster on Sunday.

The Coaches: Beth Floyd is in her 16th season as Wilmington's softball head coach. The winningest softball coach in school history, she also heads the College's coaching minor. Floyd has led the Quakers to the program's first winning season with a 20-16 record in 2013. Tom Spencer is in his 19th season as BW's head softball coach in 2023. He's led the Yellow Jackets to over 350 victories during his tenure.

The Hitters: Wilmington carries a .386 batting average with seven Quakers - Judaea Wilson, Lindsey Carter, Rachel Berry, Olivia Doll, Logann Julian, McKenna Archey and Samantha Schwab - hitting over a .380 clip. Wilson, an All-OAC and All-Region honoree a season ago, leads the way at a .531 clip with four triples while Julian has driven in a team-best 17 runs and eight walks. Sara Frederickson and Steph Mraz carry an even .500 batting average while Emily Mau has driven in 11 runs for BW.

The Pitchers: The Quakers have used four pitchers primarily as Alexis Stringfellow, Izzy Rothrock, Hillary Huffer and Avree Entler have all pitched at least 20 innings. Stringfellow leads the way in ERA (2.20) while Rothrock averages over a strikeout an inning. Entler, who won WC's game at Anderson, has pitched over 30 innings with two complete games and two victories. Marisa Hill has pitched over half of the Yellow Jacket innings as the sophomore has a 1.90 ERA in 51.2 innings with 36 strikeouts.

Series History: Wilmington is 11-17 against BW since the 2009 season. Coincidentally, the two teams have played in Berea the last four meetings with each side winning two contests.
