Series History

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College women's soccer team will host Bethany College (W.V.) Saturday at 5 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington and Bethany. The Fightin' Quakers are 1-2-0 after a breakout victory over Cincinnati Christian University 6-2. Wednesday. The Bison are 0-3-0. 

The Coaches: Steve Spirk enters his 28th season as Wilmington's head women's soccer coach. Spirk, a 1982 alumnus, has led the Quakers to six NCAA Division III Tournaments, eight conference championships and over 300 victories during his tenure. A member of the Wilmington Athletics Hall of Fame, Spirk was a four-time All-American and holds several of the College's men's soccer records. Alyssa Finelli enters her first season as the head coach for the Bison after spending time at Seton Hill.

The Players: Freshman Taylor Huffman scored a hat trick last game against Cincinnati Christian, Huffman also recorded two assists in the match. Maddie Scott scored twice in the Quaker victory. Grace Chambers and Riley Meyers lead the Bison with five shots each. Corinne Grabow has played every minute in goal for the Bison, recording 26 saves.

Series History: The Quakers are 5-0-1 against the Bison since 1986 after a 2-2 draw last season. More information on the series history can be viewed by visiting the links above.
