Women's Soccer Looks to Keep Unbeaten Streak Alive at Muskingum

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College women's soccer team will travel to Muskingum University on Wednesday at 7 p.m. for Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) competition.

The Teams: Wilmington and Muskingum, the Fightin' Quakers are 7-2-1 (1-0-0 OAC) after a 1-0 overtime victory at Heidelberg on Saturday. The Muskies are 5-6-0 (0-1-0 OAC) after falling to John Carroll University 3-1 on Saturday.

The Coaches: Steve Spirk enters his 28th season as Wilmington's head women's soccer coach. Spirk, a 1982 alumnus, has led the Quakers to six NCAA Division III Tournaments, eight conference championships and over 300 victories during his tenure. A member of the Wilmington Athletics Hall of Fame, Spirk was a four-time All-American and holds several of the College's men's soccer records. Mary Beth Caudill is the immediate Past President of the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association and in her 23rd year as head coach of the women's soccer program at Muskingum. She is the all time winningest coach in Muskingum's women's soccer history.

The Players: Maddie Scott has scored five goals to lead the Quaker offensive effort and Taylor Huffman leads assists with three. Lauren Galloway has started every game at goalkeeper, recording 56 saves with only two goals allowed. Galloway is the reigning OAC defensive player of the week. Natalie Woodward and Mary Double lead the Muskies in scoring with four goals each, Woodward has also dished out three assists. Katie Bodenmiller has played the majority of minutes in goal, making 52 saves with 15 goals allowed.

Unbeaten Streak: The Quakers are unbeaten in their last seven games, going all the way back to Sept. 7 against Anderson (Ind.)

Series History: Wilmington is 23-0-1 against Muskingum since 1991, the Quakers won last season 5-0 in Williams Stadium.
