Women's Soccer To Begin 2019 Season on Aug. 31

2019 SCHEDULE

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College women's soccer team has released its 2019 season for a season that begins at home on August 31.

The Fightin' Quakers open the year with a home contest at 3 p.m. on August 31 against Cincinnati State University. After a road contest against Thomas More University on Sept. 4, Wilmington will play its first NCAA Division III opponent of the year in Anderson University on Sept. 7. The Quakers defeated the Ravens 3-1 on the road last season. One final non-NCAA Division III opponent looms in Cincinnati Christian University on Sept. 11 on the road.

Wilmington will close out the non-conference portion of it schedule with 4-of-5 home games beginning with Bethany College (West Virginia) on Sept. 14. The Quaker Bowl Rivalry comes to town four days later as Earlham College will attempt to avenge a 5-0 defeat at the hands of Wilmington last season. After a non-conference contest with Wittenberg University, Wilmington rounds out non-conference play with a pair of Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) foes in Transylvania University and Defiance College to end September.

Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) play begins with 3-of-4 road contests in at Heidelberg University on Oct. 5, at Muskingum University on Oct. 9 and at Ohio Northern University on Oct. 16 with a home date with the University of Mount Union sandwiched in between on Oct. 12.

The second half of October features home contests against Marietta College on Oct. 19, Otterbein University on Oct. 23 and Capital University for senior night on Oct. 30. Baldwin Wallace University and John Carroll University are the final two road contests of the regular season.

Wilmington will need to replace four of its top five offensive threats from 2018. Madison Wiedeman, who scored two goals and dished out three assists as a junior, returns for her senior season.
