Trio of Throwers Compete at Last Chance Meet

ALLIANCE, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's track & field team sent three throwers to the University of Mount Union for the final Last Chance Meet of the year on Thursday.

In the hammer throw, JJ Durr won the event at the same place he was crowed the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Champion two weeks earlier with a heave of 192' 11". Teammate Nate Marcum's toss of 172' 5" placed him second. Brett Brooks was the other Quaker to compete on Thursday, and the freshman took sixth in the discus with a throw of 143' 3".

The Quakers will await the announcement of the field of competitors for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships that will be forthcoming by the end of the weekend. Currently, WC has four individuals in the field - Simon Heys (5,000-meter & 10,000-meter runs), Brady Vilvens (high jump), Durr (hammer throw) and Nathan Borgan (hammer throw).
