RALEIGH, North Carolina - The Distance duo of Simon Heys and Noah Tobin took on the Raleigh Relays for the Wilmington College men's track & field team in North Carolina on Thursday. To open the outdoor season, Heys and Tobin competed against some of the top talent from NCAA Division I institutions.
In a stacked heat of 22 runners, Heys grabbed sixth-place, coming a few seconds off his school record in a time of 14:11. Out of the field as a whole, he finished 44th, but was the top Division III finisher in the 5,000-meter run. Heys is ahead of schedule as this time last year he ran 14:19. Noah Tobin finished 23rd in the first heat in a time of 15:10.
The Quakers head to Kentucky to continue the outdoor season next week.
