WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's track & field team opens Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) championship competition in Cleveland, Ohio. Baldwin Wallace University will host the 2023 Indoor Championship as the Quakers are coming off the school's highest ranking at the OAC Cross Country Championships with a third-place finish. 

The Schedule: On Friday, field events start off with pole vault, long jump and weight throw at noon with running events starting later at 4:30 p.m. with the 500-meter dash. On Saturday, field events get day two rolling with triple jump, shot put and high jump at 10:00 AM with running events following in the afternoon at 2:30 p.m. with the 800-meter relay. 

The Competition: The Quakers will compete against the other nine teams in the Ohio Athletic Conference.

The Coach: Ron Combs enters his 25th season as the head coach of Wilmington's men's and women's track and field teams. Combs has been named Coach of the Year, twice by the Heartland Athletic Conference, and once by the OAC. In 2002, he led the men's indoor team to a sixth-place finish at NCAA DIII Championships.

Who to Watch: Simon Heys and Noah Tobin highlight the weekend for the Quakers in the distance events as both are entered in the 5,000-meter run and the 3,000-meter run. Heys is ranked at the top while Tobin is close behind in third. Middle Distance will be represented by Eric Reynolds as he will toe the line in the 1,000-meter run. Brady Vilvens will double in the triple jump and the high jump as he looks to grab some more points for the team. Rounding out the group is the throw squad of Andrew Pacifico, JJ Durr, Nate Marcum, Nathan Borgan and Mike Soltis.
