Men's Track & Field Opens 2023 Outdoor Season in Kentucky

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's track & field team heads to Centre College in Kentucky to open the 2023 outdoor season as a team. The Quakers saw a few individuals compete last weekend, and now the rest of the team will get a chance to compete outdoors.  

The Schedule: Field events open up at 9:00 am with long jump while track events shoot-off at 10 am led by the 10,000-meter run.  

The Competition: The Quakers will compete against other teams in the NCAA. 

The Coach: Ron Combs enters his 25th season as the head coach of Wilmington's men's and women's track and field teams. Combs has been named Coach of the Year, twice by the Heartland Athletic Conference, and once by the OAC. In 2002, he led the men's indoor team to a sixth-place finish at NCAA DIII Championships.

Who to Watch: The throws squad of JJ Durr, Andrew Pacifico, Nathan Borgan and Nathan Marcum competed at Cedarville last weekend and look to lead the way for the Quakers on the field events. The distance squad of Simon Heys, Noah Tobin, Eric Reynolds and Tate Yoder highlight the day for the group. Both Heys and Tobin opened up their outdoor seasons last weekend in North Carolina.
