Men's Track & Field to Compete at Muskingum Invitational

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's track & field team heads to Muskingum University for a midweek meet. The men's team enters this week after cracking into the top 20 in the nation as a team in Division III according to the National Ranking Index.

The Schedule: Field events lead off at 1pm with running events starting later in the day at 5pm. 

The Competition: The Quakers will be joined by a handful of schools including Wheeling, Muskingum, Marietta, West Liberty and Otterbein.

The Coach: Ron Combs enters his 25th season as the head coach of Wilmington's men's and women's track and field teams. Combs has been named Coach of the Year, twice by the Heartland Athletic Conference, and once by the OAC. In 2002, he led the men's indoor team to a sixth-place finish at NCAA DIII Championships.

Who to Watch: Brady Vilvens will be facing off in the high jump after jumping himself into the current second best height in the country last weekend. JJ Durr will lead the way for the throws squad as he enters this week ranked 12th in the country in the hammer throw. Tate Yoder and Gabe Moore highlight the distance events as Yoder will double in the 1,500-meter run and the 800-meter run while Moore is slated in the 5,000-meter run. Jalaun Covington rounds things out for the squad as he will represent the sprinters as he doubles in the 100-meter dash and the 400-meter dash.
