Women's Basketball Hosts Marietta in Pink Game Saturday

WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College women's basketball returns to Hermann Court for two final home games of the 2019-20 regular season. The first is against Marietta College at 3 p.m. on Saturday.

The Teams: Wilmington and Marietta. The Quakers enter the game 10-12 overall and 6-9 in Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) play after a 104-53 whitewashing of Muskingum University on Wednesday evening. The Pioneers are 11-11 overall and 7-8 in conference play after falling 82-75 at the University of Mount Union on Wednesday.

The Coaches: Jerry Scheve is in his 30th season as head coach of the Wilmington women's basketball program. Scheve, who guided the Quakers to the NCAA Division III National Championship in 2004, has amassed over 500 career victories. Kole Vivian is in his eighth season as the Marietta sidelines including four as the program's top assistant and four as head coach.

The Players: A quartet of Quakers – McKayla Binkley, Kennedy Lewis, Hannah Binkley and Kelly Noll – all score in double figures. McKayla Binkley leads the team in scoring (17.9 points per game) and rebounding (7.5 points per game). Noll, who scores 10.0 points per game, is second on the team in rebounding at 6.3 boards per 40 minutes. Alexis Enochs and Devin Hefner both score in double figures for Marietta while Enochs leads the Pioneers in rebounding at 5.0 boards per contest.

Tale of the Tape: Points per game – Wilmington 79.8, Marietta 64.6; opponents' points per game – Wilmington 74.2, Marietta 67.7; field goal percentage – Wilmington 41.6, Marietta 37.1; three-point percentage – Wilmington 31.9, Marietta 26.8; free throw percentage – Wilmington 71.2, Marietta 73.2; rebounds per game – Wilmington 42.7, Marietta 39.1; assist-to-turnover ratio – Wilmington 0.87, Marietta 0.60.

Tops in the OAC: McKayla Binkley leads the OAC in scoring at 17.9 points per game.

Scoring Offense: The Quakers are eighth in the country in scoring offense at 79.8 points per game.

Pink Game: Wilmington will be wearing pink articles of clothing to raise awareness for breast cancer. A table at the entrance of Hermann Court will be available for donations.

Recent History: Wilmington is 33-7 against Marietta since joining the OAC prior to the 2001 season. The Quakers won 75-65 at Ban Johnson Arena on Jan. 4 in the first meeting of the season. More information on the series history can be found by visiting the link above.
