WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College women's basketball team will attempt to stop a three-game losing skid when Otterbein University comes to Hermann Court for a 7 p.m. game on Wednesday.
The Teams: Wilmington and Otterbein. The Quakers are 9-10 overall and 5-7 in Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) competition after a 71-68 defeat at the hands of Heidelberg University on Saturday. The Cardinals are 10-9 and also 5-7 in conference competition after a 74-58 loss at Capital University last weekend.
The Coaches: Jerry Scheve is in his 30th season as head coach of the Wilmington women's basketball program. Scheve, who guided the Quakers to the NCAA Division III National Championship in 2004, has amassed over 500 career victories. Diana Noles is in her first season as Otterbein's head coach after spending the previous seven as the team's top assistant. A 2004 graduate, Noles (Esterkamp) was a three-time All-OAC performer.
The Players: Four Quakers – McKayla Binkley, Kennedy Lewis, Hannah Binkley and Kelly Noll – all score in double figures including McKayla Binkley's 18.1 points per game. The Lycnburg-Clay alumna is also Wilmington's leading rebounder at 7.7 boards per contest while Noll grabs 6.3 boards per 40 minutes. Lewis combines with Zahyra Bailey to dish out nearly six assists per contest. Abbie Scholz is Otterbein's leading scorer at 12.6 points per game. She also leads the Cardinals in the rebounding department at 7.2 boards per contest.

Scoring Offense: The Quakers are seventh in NCAA Division III in scoring offense at 81.3 points per game.
Former Teammates: Otterbein head coach Diana Noles (Esterkamp) and Wilmington assistant coach Janel Blankespoor (Iden) were teammates at Otterbein during the 2003-04 season. Both were on the last team to defeat the 2004 Lady Quakers before their run to the national championship.
Recent History: Wilmington is 25-16 against Otterbein since joining the OAC prior to the 2001 season. The Quakers won the first matchup of the season, 88-78 at the Rike Center on Jan. 15. More information on the series history can be found by visiting the link above.
