GAME NOTES - FRANKLIN

WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College women's basketball team hosts the 14th annual Fred Raizk Memorial Tournament at Hermann Court this weekend.

The Schedule: Wilmington will face Franklin College at 6 p.m. on Friday followed by Albin College and Hiram College at 8 p.m. Saturday will feature a consolation final at 1 p.m. followed by the 3 p.m. championship.

The Teams: Wilmington, Franklin, Albion and Hiram. The Fightin' Quakers enter the weekend 1-1 after finishing runner-up at the Damon's/Hampton Inn Tip-Off Tournament last weekend. The Grizzlies have yet to play this season after posting an 8-17 campaign last year while the Britons are a perfect 4-0 in 2019-20. Finally, the Terriers are 2-3 after a large victory over Thiel College on Tuesday.

The Coaches: Jerry Scheve is in his 30th season as head coach of the Wilmington women's basketball program. Scheve, who guided the Quakers to the NCAA Division III National Championship in 2004, has amassed over 500 career victories. Dana Haggenjos has been Franklin's coach since 2014 while Doreen Carden is in her 19th season at Albion. She led the Britons to a "Sweet 16" appearance in 2005. Alexandra Dellas, a 2010 graduate of Hiram, is in her third season as her alma mater's head coach.

The Players: A quintet of Quakers – McKayla Binkley, Hannah Binkley, Zahrya Bailey, Kelly Noll and Kennedy Lewis – all score in double figures with McKayla Binkley leading the way at 19.5 points per game to go along with 4.5 steals per contest. Noll grabs seven rebounds per game while Lewis and Bailey dish out 4.5 assists per game. Bayleigh Walker returns for her junior season for Franklin having led the team in scoring at 13.3 points per game in 2018-19. Rain Hinton and Evelyn Wischmeyer score at lead 14 points for Albion while Tashauna Wright leads Hiram in scoring at 21.6 points per game and rebounding at 7.0 boards per contest.
