The win was the Polar Bears' 15th consecutive win over Wilmington. Additionally, the 76 points scored by the Quakers were the most ONU had surrendered all season.

 

Wilmington scored on four of its first five possessions to build an early lead. Four minutes into the game, Zahrya Bailey found McKayla Binkley for a three-pointer, forcing an ONU timeout with the hosts down 13-5. The Polar Bears, who trailed by five (23-18) after one quarter, scored the first four points of the second to get within a point. The Quakers answered with a 7-2 run capped by a Kelly Noll three-pointer to go up 30-24.

 

Five minutes later, Noll crashed the boards for an offensive rebound, and made a layup while being fouled. Her free throw was good, giving the visitors a 38-30 advantage with 2:41 to play in the second quarter. ONU cut that deficit in half, but a Kennedy Lewis layup at the buzzer sent Wilmington into the locker room up 46-40.

 

The Quakers held that lead the entire third quarter, and though the Polar Bears got within a point, it was the visitors who led 62-58 after 30 minutes. The first two-plus minutes of the fourth quarter saw Wilmington maintaining a basket advantage as Michelle Lee's jumper made the score 66-64. Unfortunately for the Quakers, Wilmington wouldn't score for over five minutes as ONU went on a 14-0 run the sealed the game.

 

The Polar Bears made two more field goals (31-29) while shooting six percentage points better and also converted 11-of-28 (39.3 percent) from beyond the three-point arc compared to 6-of-29 (20.7 percent) for the Quakers. Both teams made a dozen free throws while the hosts held a 47-45 rebounding edge.

 

Jaclyn Yankle led all scorers with 27 points on 10-of-14 shooting from the field and 7-of-10 from distance. Emily Mescher and Abby Weeks both had 18 points for ONU in victory.

 

Noll, who didn't miss (8-of-8 from the field and 3-of-3 from beyond the arc) in the first half, scored a season-high 20 points despite being held scoreless in the second half. Lewis also had a season-high, scoring 19 points while dishing out two assists with two steals. McKayla Binkley added another double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds.
