WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College volleyball team will once again be on the road this weekend, but they will not have to go far as the Fightin' Quakers will face three teams from Southwest Ohio.

The Schedule: Wilmington will face Central State University and Cincinnati Christian University (CCU) in a tri-match at CCU at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. respectively. The Quakers will then travel to Ohio Christian University for an 11 a.m. contest on Saturday.

The Teams: Wilmington, Central State, Cincinnati Christian and Ohio Christian. The Quakers are looking for their first win of the season after an 0-3 weekend at the Bulldogs Classic hosted by Adrian College last weekend. Central State has yet to compete in 2019 while Cincinnati Christian is 4-3 and hosts the University of Cincinnati Clermont College on Wednesday. Ohio Christian, like Wilmington, is looking for its first win of the season.

The Coaches: A new era of Wilmington volleyball has arrived as Andy Riesenberg, an experienced coach at the NCAA Division I, II, III and club levels, enters his first season leading the program in 2019. The Mount St. Joseph University alumnus has spent time at Southern Illinois University, Xavier University and Ohio University as an assistant coach as well as a stint as head coach at NCAA Division II institution Lake Erie College. Christina Coleman (Central State) and Christina Bales (Ohio Christian) are also in their first seasons while Meredith Heater begins her second season as Ohio Christian's head coach.

The Players: Taylor McCuistion and Jillian Wesco both average over two kills per set for Wilmington while Summer Wilbur dishes out 5.67 assists per set on average. Defensively, Karley Schlensker averages nearly six digs per set while Morgan Loomis and Mariella Szrom lead the Quakers in blocks. Central State was led by Akaila Howard in 2018 as the setter dished out 5.39 assists per set while also averaging over one kill per set. Olivia Frazier leads the Cincinnati Christian offense with a .306 attack percentage. In Ohio Christian's last match, against Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) member Marietta College, Katie Bush dished out 27 assists and tallied 17 digs to lead the Trailblazers.

Series History: Wilmington is 7-0 against Central State and 0-2 against Cincinnati Christian in the last decade. The Quakers have not faced Ohio Christian during that time. More information on the series histories can be viewed by visiting the link above.
