MARIETTA, Ohio - The Wilmington College volleyball team won its first set in Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) competition, but Marietta College won the other three sets in convincing fashion as the Pioneers downed the Fightin' Quakers 25-8, 25-6, 23-25, 25-13 on Saturday.

In the first two sets, the Pioneers hit over a .350 attack percentage while the Quakers were in the negatives. Wilmington rebounded in set three putting down eight kills and just three attack errors and rattled off the final four points trailing 23-21 to earn the set victory. Unfortunately for the visitors, set four reverted back to the first two as an even .000 clip from Wilmington wasn't enough to force a deciding fifth set.

Taylor McCuistion led Wilmington with 10 kills and a .062 attack percentage while Mariella Szrom tallied seven kills. Summer Wilbur assisted on 20-of-26 kills while Karley Schlensker added 24 digs from the back row. Three Quakers - McCuistion, Wilbur and Adrianna Middleton - had multiple service aces.

A pair of Pioneers - Alissa Ginther and Sam Ritehour - turned in a dozen kills and hit at least a .400 attack percentage. Setter Maddie Nader dished out 26 assists while April Davis added 23 digs.

Marietta improves to 13-12 overall and 2-3 in OAC play with the win while Wilmington dips to 3-20 and 0-5 in conference competition. The Quakers head to Otterbein University on Tuesday.
