GRANVILLE, Ohio - Denison University hit a .265 clip en route to a straight-set victory (25-15, 25-17, 25-15) over the Wilmington College volleyball team in a non-conference match on Wednesday evening.
The Fightin' Quakers managed to hit a positive attack percentage in the second set (.154), but the Big Red also tallied their offensive set with 13 kills and just two errors for a .323 attack percentage. Denison hit a positive attack percentage in each set to claim the straight-set victory.
Wilmington finished with 21 kills including seven from Taylor McCuistion and six from Jillian Wesco. Mariella Szrom added three kills while no other Quaker had more than two kills. Summer Wilbur dished out 15 assists while Karley Schlensker tallied 18 digs.
Emma Woerner added nine kills for Denison while Sidney Gossard and Lucy Anderson, who both hit over a .400 clip, both had seven kills. Sophie Tight averaged 10 assists per set while Jenna Corrao led the Big Red back row with a dozen digs.
Wilmington (1-11) travels to Ohio University Chillicothe for a 6 p.m. match on Friday.
