Men's Soccer Has Five Honored by OCSA

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's soccer team had five individuals earn All-Ohio honors from the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association (OCSA) on Wednesday. 

Academically, Casey Miller and Yusef Muqtadir were named First Team Academic All-Ohio and Grant Murray garnered Second Team Academic All-Ohio recognition. Athletically, Elorm Dogbey was a First Team All-Ohio selection, Michael Owusu was named Second Team All-Ohio and Miller & Muqtadir earned Third Team All-Ohio recognition.

Miller, a senior business administration & sport management double major from Centerville, appeared and started in all 21 games as a midfielder. The All-OAC honoree was tied for third on the team with 13 points having netted five goals and dished out three assists.

Muqtadir, a senior business administration & accounting double major from Dayton, started all 21 games as a forward. The multiple time All-OAC honoree scored six goals, second on the squad, and tallied 13 points.

Murray, a senior exercise science major from Cincinnati, earned All-OAC recognition as a midfielder. He started in 20 games and dished out a team-high seven assists including two in OAC Tournament games along with netting four goals.

Dogbey, who received All-OAC recognition for the third consecutive season, led the Quakers offensively with with eight goals and 19 points. The former OAC Forward of the Year in the spring of 2021 took a team-high 31 shots with 47 percent of his shots being on target.

Owusu played primarily on the back line and was instrumental in WC's run to the OAC Tournament title game. Wilmington allowed just one goal in its first two games before falling to eventual tournament champion John Carroll University. On the season, Owusu played a large part in the Quakers allowing 1.23 goals per game on the season.

Wilmington finished its 2022 season with a 12-6-3 overall record and a 5-2-2 mark in OAC contests. The Quakers earned the No. 4 seed for the OAC Tournament and made run to the championship game for the first time since 2006.
