SERIES HISTORY

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's soccer team will close out the regular season at Heidelberg University on Saturday afternoon. Kickoff from the Hidden Valley Soccer Complex is scheduled for 1 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington and Heidelberg. The Fightin' Quakers enter the matchup with a 9-5-3 overall record and a 4-2-2 mark in Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) matches after a 5-2 triumph at Muskingum University on Wednesday evening. The Student Princes are still in search of their first win as Berg carries an 0-16-1 record with a winless OAC slate.

The Coaches: Wilmington is led by first-year Head Coach Cory Bucur, who came to WC from Defiance College. Bucur led the Yellow Jackets to their best season in over a decade in the fall of 2021 as DC went 11-11-1, upset Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Tournament before coming a penalty shootout victory away from appearing in the NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Tournament. Nick Spell, a 2003 Marietta College alumnus, is in his 17th season at Heidelberg. He spent 15 years as the women's head coach before transitioning to the director of soccer and head men's soccer coach prior to the 2021 fall season.

The Players: Four Quakers - Elorm Dogbey, Casey Miller, Grant Murray and Yusef Muqtadir - have double digits in points thus far this season. Dogbey, the former OAC Forward of the Year, has a team-best seven goals while Miller and Muqtadir have each found the back of the net five times. Murray leads the team in assists with five. The Wilmington defense, anchored by goalkeeper Thomas Grimes, has allowed 1.25 goals per game with five shutouts. Heidelberg has scored just four goals on the season and allowed 74. Zane Paul has netted two of them while Simon Joseph and Kelly Itito have each found the back of the net once.

OAC Tournament: Wilmington, which has already qualified for the OAC Tournament, can secure a home game with a victory.
