WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College men's soccer team travels northeast to take on Geneva College at 3 p.m. on Saturday.

The Teams: Wilmington and Geneva. Wilmington (3-2-1) narrowly lost to nationally ranked Kenyon College as the Owls were held to a single shot on goal which they converted. Geneva College (2-1-3) tied Hiram College 1-1 in their most recent match. Geneva tied their only other OAC opponent, Baldwin Wallace, 0-0.

The Coaches: Wilmington is led by first-year Head Coach Cory Bucur, who came to WC from Defiance College. Bucur led the Yellow Jackets to their best season in over a decade in the fall of 2021 as DC went 11-11-1, upset Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Tournament before coming a penalty shootout victory away from appearing in the NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Tournament. The 2022 season will be Gary Dunda's 13th season as head coach for the Geneva College Golden Tornadoes. Since his first season in 2010, Dunda has led the Golden Tornadoes to an overall record of 133-68-31, and the program has competed in the postseason conference championship tournament every year except one since joining the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) in 2011.

The Player: Elorm Dogbey and Alfie Harris lead Wilmington offensively as the two have combined for five of the team's eight goals on the year thus far. Casey MillerYusef Muqtadir and Michael Owusu have also scored goals for WC. Freshman goalkeeper Thomas Grimes two shutouts on his way to a 3-1 record. The trio of Wil Dunda, Carnel Kerr and Kyle Lapoure lead the balanced Geneva College attack with each having two goals on the season.
