WILMINGTON, Ohio – For the third consecutive year, the Wilmington College men's soccer team will begin the postseason at home as The University of Mount Union comes to Williams Stadium for an Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Tournament game on Tuesday. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington and Mount Union. The Fightin' Quakers finished the 2022 regular season with a 10-5-3 overall record including a 5-2-2 OAC mark that earned them the No. 4 seed. WC is coming off of consecutive victories having defeated Muskingum University 5-2 and Heidelberg University 8-0 last week. The Purple Raiders, who enter the postseason as the No. 5 seed, finished the year 9-3-5 overall and 4-3-2 in conference games. Mount Union most recently lost to Otterbein University 2-1 at home on Saturday.

The Coaches: Wilmington is led by first-year Head Coach Cory Bucur, who came to WC from Defiance College. Bucur led the Yellow Jackets to their best season in over a decade in the fall of 2021 as DC went 11-11-1, upset Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Tournament before coming a penalty shootout victory away from appearing in the NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Tournament. David Krems is in his third season as head men's soccer coach at Mount Union. Krems came to Mount Union from Penn State-Behrend, where he served as an assistant coach for two seasons.

The Players: Offensively, Wilmington is led by four seniors as Elorm Dogbey, Grant Murray, Casey Miller and Yusef Muqtadir have all tallied at least 13 points on the season. Dogbey leads the squad in goals with eight while Murray has a team-high six assists. Goalkeeper Thomas Grimes, along with defenders Nick In'tZand, Michael Owusu and Andre Hagborg, allow 1.18 goals per game. Jamon McCort has netted 14 goals for Mount Union while Carter Hancock has 11 assists to lead the Purple Raiders.

Series History: Wilmington is 14-9-3 against Mount Union since the 1993 season. The teams played to a 3-3 draw at Williams Stadium earlier this season. More information on the series history can be viewed by visiting the link above.
