Men's Soccer Closes Out Non-Conference Play With No. 16 Denison on Saturday

WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College men's soccer team returns home to face nationally-ranked Denison for a 7 p.m. kickoff at Williams Stadium on Saturday.

The Teams: Wilmington and Denison. The Fightin' Quakers are 5-1-2 on the season and most recently cruised to a 12-2 victory against Mt. St. Joseph University on the road on Thursday night. Denison is 4-1-2 on the year, coming off a 1-0 defeat against John Carroll University.

The Coaches: Wilmington is led by first-year Head Coach Cory Bucur, who came to WC from Defiance College. Bucur led the Yellow Jackets to their best season in over a decade in the fall of 2021 as DC went 11-11-1, upset Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Tournament before coming a penalty shootout victory away from appearing in the NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Tournament. Brandon Bianco is in his third season as head coach of Denison soccer.

The Players: Elorm Dogbey has led the charge offensively for the Quakers having scored five goals and dishing out two assists to a team-leading dozen points. Alfie Harris has netted three goals and one assist, giving him seven points for the season. WC averages nearly four goals per contest. For the Big Red, Ethan Miracle has been very dangerous, tallying seven goals in seven games.
