SERIES HISTORY

WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College men's soccer team heads north to Ada, Ohio, for a neutral-site game with Kalamazoo College at Ohio Northern University (ONU) on Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington and Kalamazoo. The Fightin' Quakers enter the contest 2-1-1 after a 2-2 draw with Defiance College at home on Wednesday evening. The Hornets are 1-2-0 on the year and will face ONU on Friday evening.

The Coaches: Wilmington is led by first-year Head Coach Cory Bucur, who came to WC from Defiance College. Bucur led the Yellow Jackets to their best season in over a decade in the fall of 2021 as DC went 11-11-1, upset Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Tournament before coming a penalty shootout victory away from appearing in the NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Tournament. Lumumba Shabazz has been Kalamazoo's head men's soccer coach for a decade. He's led the Hornets to 88 wins during that stretch.

The Players: Both Elorm Dogbey, who scored both goals against Defiance, and Alfie Harris, who netted both Quaker goals at Wittenberg University, lead the team offensively. Three other individuals - Casey Miller, Yusef Muqtadir and Michael Owusu - have all netted a single goals. Wilmington's back line of Andre Hagborn, Nick Int'Zand and Brock Biederman have started all but one contest together while WC has utilized two goalkeepers - Gabriel Swaisgood and Thomas Grimes - both of which have started two contests. Kalamazoo has scored two goals this season as Michele Alia scored against North Central College and Jaden Buist netted a goal against Concordia University (Michigan).

Series History: Wilmington is 6-0-2 against Kalamazoo since becoming an NCAA Division III member in the early 1990s. The Quakers most recently defeated the Hornets 4-0 on the road last season. More information on the series history can be viewed by visiting the link above.
