ADA, Ohio - Wilmington College men's soccer outshot Ohio Northern University in the second half 13-10, but were unable to break through and find the second goal as the host Polar Bears took a 2-1 Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) victory on Wednesday evening.

Ohio Northern came into the match not having lost in 12 matches going 9-0-3 in that span. In the 33rd minute, Cade Winchester did his part for the Polar Bears finding the back of the net with the help of an Ashton Ochsner pass. The Quakers did shoot four times in the first half, but were unable to break through.

In the 57th minute, Grant Murray scored his first goal of the night and third of the season with Elorm Dogbey getting credit for the assist. The game would not remain tied for long, unfortunately. This time, Ochsner was the goal scorer in the 67th minute giving Ohio Northern a 2-1 lead. Wilmington fired seven shots in the final 15 minutes, but couldn't equalize.

Ohio Northern held a 19-17 shots advantage including a 9-6 mark in shots on goal. Lucas Hickey improved to 4-0-1 on the season making four saves while Thomas Grimes dipped to 7-4-1 with seven saves in defeat. Levi King led the hosts in shots with four while Murray and Dogbey each fired four for the Quakers.

Up next, Wilmington will host The University of Mount Union for a Senior Night game on Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
