WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College men's soccer team returns home to face nationally-ranked Kenyon College for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff at Williams Stadium on Wednesday.

The Teams: Wilmington and Kenyon. The Fightin' Quakers are 3-1-1 on the season and most recently edged Kalamazoo College 1-0 in a neutral-site contest at Ohio Northern University on Saturday. The Owls are a perfect 4-0-0 on the year with victories over two Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) institutions Ohio Northern University (6-2) and No. 16 John Carroll University (2-1). Kenyon most recently defeated Centre College 1-0 on Sunday, Sept. 11.

The Coaches: Wilmington is led by first-year Head Coach Cory Bucur, who came to WC from Defiance College. Bucur led the Yellow Jackets to their best season in over a decade in the fall of 2021 as DC went 11-11-1, upset Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Tournament before coming a penalty shootout victory away from appearing in the NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Tournament. Chris Brown is in his 18th season as Kenyon's head men's soccer coach. He's led Kenyon to 223 runs and just 70 defeats in his tenure.

The Players: Elorm Dogbey and Alfie Harris lead Wilmington offensively as the two have combined for five of the team's eight goals on the year thus far. Casey Miller, Yusef Muqtadir and Michael Owusu have also scored goals for WC. The hosts have used two primary goalkeepers through five games as Thomas Grimes is 3-0 and made 24 saves while Gabriel Swaisgood is 0-1-1 and has eight saves in 180 minutes. A trio of Owls - Scott Upton, Sebastian Gaese and Alem Duratovic - have netted at least four goals. As a team, Kenyon averages over four goals per contest.

OAC Player of the Week: Elorm Dogbey is this week's OAC Offensive Player of the Week. He's scored WC's last three goals.

United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Poll: Kenyon checks in at No. 8 in the most recent United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Poll.

Series History: Wilmington is 7-14-0 against Kenyon since joining NCAA Division III in the early 1990s. The Owls have won the previous six meetings and last triumphed 2-1 in Gambier, Ohio, on Sept. 24, 2019. More information on the series history can be viewed by visiting the link above.
