Series History

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's soccer team will host Bethany College (W.V.) Saturday evening for a 7 p.m. contest. The match will be preceded by a women's contest also between Wilmington and Bethany beginning at 5 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington and Bethany. The Fightin' Quakers are 4-1-0 after a dominant 5-0 victory over Earlham College Wednesday. The Bisons are 1-4-0 after an 8-2 loss at Ferrum.

The Coaches: Alex Van der Sluijs is in his second year leading Wilmington's men's soccer team. The 2007 alumnus, who was a three-time First Team All-OAC selection and a member of the program's only team to win an OAC title in 2004, worked at Defiance College for seven seasons. Frankie Tall returns to Bethany College after 16 seasons at North Carolina Wesleyan. Taal graduated from Bethany in 1998 with a bachelor's degree in Political Science and spent over a decade around the men's and women's programs. He served five seasons as the men's assistant coach and led the women's program for a season. 

The Players: Elorm Dogbey has scored in all but one game for the Quakers this season scoring six goals in five games. Zach Burgmeier leads Wilmington in assists with three, he has also scored two goals. Felix Maurer has played the majority of minutes in goal for the Quakers, recording eight saves and participating in four shutouts. Anthony Bradden is among four players who have scored for Bethany this season, Bradden has also recorded the most shots for the Bison with eight. Torben Grether has played every minute in goal for the Bison and has recorded 40 saves in that time. 

Series History: Wilmington is 12-7-4 against Bethany since 1986, the Quakers have won the last two meetings.
