WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's soccer team dropped game one of the 2019 Kiwanis Classic to Adrian College 1-0 on Friday afternoon. Wilmington is now 2-1-0 on the season.

The Bulldogs got on the board early in the 32nd minute when Garret Miller scored on a long shot reaching just over the fingertips of Fightin' Quakers' goalie Felix Maurer

The second half was much more physical than the first as the teams fought for every advantage. In total, 16 fouls occurred in the second half with eight from each team. The Quakers would try to rally in the second half, taking twice as many shots as the Bulldogs in the second half, but none found their target. Three of those shots came in the final five minutes of the game with Kevin Kamara hitting the crossbar and two other shots being saved by Bulldog goalkeeper Spencer Brown.

The Quakers outshot the Bulldogs 12-8 and also took the advantage in corner kicks 4-3. Both goalkeepers had five saves in the contest. Brown received credit for a shutout while Maurer took his first loss of the season.

Wilmington won't have to wait long to play again as it faces off against Grove City College on Saturd at 3 p.m. for the final game of the 2019 Kiwanis Classic.
