WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's soccer team will travel to Wittenberg University for a 7:30 p.m. contest on Tuesday.
The Teams: Wilmington and Wittenberg. The Fightin' Quakers are 5-1-0 after a 3-0 victory over Bethany College (W.V.) on Saturday. The Tigers are 2-4-0 after a 2-1 victory over Bluffton University on Friday.
The Coaches: Alex Van der Sluijs is in his second year leading Wilmington's men's soccer team. The 2007 alumnus, who was a three-time First Team All-OAC selection and a member of the program's only team to win an OAC title in 2004, worked at Defiance College for seven seasons. Dwight Burgess is in his fifth season as head coach of the Tigers, he spent 10 years at Capital University as head men's soccer coach and eight as head women's soccer coach.
The Players: Elorm Dogbey leads the Quakers scoring efforts with seven goals. Zach Burgmeier and Grant Murray have dished out the most assists for Wilmington with three each. Felix Maurer has only allowed one goal against the Quakers in six games, he has recorded six saves so far this season. Sean Williams has scored four goals to Lead the Tigers offense, Aaron Craddock leads in assists with two. Jason Bowen has started all six games for the Tigers and has recorded 18 saves in that time.
Series History: The Quakers are 16-9-3 against the Tigers since 1987, Wilmington won the last meeting 4-0 in 2017
