Men's Soccer Ties With Anderson (Ind.) 1-1

ANDERSON, Indiana - The Wilmington College men's soccer team could not gain the edge over Anderson (Ind.) in a 1-1 draw on Saturday afternoon. 

The tie means the Fightin' Quakers are now 7-2-1 while the Ravens are now 3-6-1.

Wilmington managed to get on the scoreboard first in the 29th minute from Ian Molfenter assisted by Zach Burgmeier. The Ravens equaled the score in the 69th minute from Daniel Collins assisted by Derek Thorpe. An additional 20 minutes of overtime play were not enough to settle the score, leading to the draw. 

The Quakers out shot the Ravens 21-10 and doubling Anderson's shots on goal 4-2. Wilmington also had a huge advantage in corner kicks, leading the way 12-4. 

Felix Maurer had just one save while Ravens goalkeeper Caleb Oliver recorded three saves. 

Up next Wilmington will host Heidelberg University for a 7 p.m. contest to open its Ohio Athletic Conference schedule next Saturday.
