Men's Soccer Closes Non-Conference Action at Anderson

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's soccer team will travel to Anderson University (Ind.) for its last non conference game of the season at 4 p.m. on Saturday.

The Teams: Wilmington and Anderson, The Fightin' Quakers are 7-2-0 after falling to nationally ranked Kenyon College 2-1 on Tuesday. The Ravens are 3-6-0 after a 5-1 loss to Berry. 

The Coaches: Alex Van der Sluijs is in his second year leading Wilmington's men's soccer team. The 2007 alumnus, who was a three-time First Team All-OAC selection and a member of the program's only team to win an OAC title in 2004, worked at Defiance College for seven seasons. Scott Fridley is in his 29th season as head men's soccer coach at Anderson. Fridley's teams have won two regular season HCAC Championships (2000, 2004) and two HCAC Tournament Championships (2000, 2002). The Ravens made five straight appearances in the HCAC Tournament final from 1998-2002, and again made the finals in '05, '10, '12 and '14.

The Players: Elorm Dogbey has scored nine goals for Wilmington and dished out two assists to lead the team in points. Zach Burgmeier leads the Quakers in assists with four, also scoring four goals of his own. Felix Maurer has started every game is goal for the Quakers and has recorded 16 saves and participated in six shutouts. Race Williams leads the Ravens in goals with three. Caleb Oliver has played the majority of minutes in goal, collecting 32 saves. 

Series History: Wilmington in 4-0-1 against Anderson since 1996, the Quakers won the last meeting 2-1 in 1999.
