Men's Soccer Continues Road Stretch at Franklin College

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's soccer team will travel to Franklin College in Indiana for a 7:30 p.m. matchup on Thursday.

The Teams: Wilmington and Franklin. The Fightin' Quakers are 6-1-0 after taking a 2-1 win at Wittenberg on Tuesday. The Grizzlies are 2-6-0 after being taken doe 5-0 by Spalding. 

The Coaches: Alex Van der Sluijs is in his second year leading Wilmington's men's soccer team. The 2007 alumnus, who was a three-time First Team All-OAC selection and a member of the program's only team to win an OAC title in 2004, worked at Defiance College for seven seasons. Cody Graman is in his third season as head men's soccer coach at Franklin after spending one season as an assistant coach. An alumnus of Franklin, Graman earned All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) honors and was a team captain during his senior campaign in 2010. He served as a volunteer assistant coach at Franklin for the 2012 and 2013 seasons.

The Players: Elorm Dogbey has scored eight goals in seven games for the Quakers while leading the team in shots and shots on goal. Grant Murray and Zach Burgmeier have assisted on three goals each with Burgmeier also scoring three goals of his own. Felix Maurer has started every game in goal for Wilmington and played a majority of the minutes, in that time he has racked up 12 saves and only allowed two goals. Garret Snyder and Jordan Thomas have each scored a pair of goals for the Grizzlies. Time in the goal has been split between Jake Hendricks and Elliot Clark, the pair has recorded 50 saves with Hendricks earning one shutout. 

Series History: The Quakers are 7-0-0 against the Grizzlies since 1998, the last result was a 3-0 win in 2018.
