Men's Soccer Travels to Mount Saint Joseph Tuesday

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's soccer team will continue its 2019 season at Mount Saint Joseph University Tuesday evening at 7 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington and Mount Saint Joseph. The Fightin' Quakers are 1-0 after a 10-0 victory over Cincinnati State to open their season. The Lions will look to rebound after a 5-12-1 season last year with a 4-5 record in HCAC competition. 

The Coaches: Alex Van der Sluijs is in his second year leading Wilmington's men's soccer team. The 2007 alumnus, who was a three-time First Team All-OAC selection and a member of the program's only team to win an OAC title in 2004, worked at Defiance College for seven seasons. Rudy Argueta is in his 11th season as head coach for the Lions and has taken the team to two HCAC tournament appearances. 

The Players: Nine Quakers scored in the season opener against Cincinnati State with sophomore forward Elorm Dogbey scoring twice while Felix Maurer is credited with the shutout for Wilmington. The Lions will have to replace four seniors this season including leading scorer Seth Freppon.
