WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's lacrosse team will host the Capital Crusaders on Wednesday evening at 7:00. A small ceremony will be held before first faceoff.
The Teams: Wilmington and Capital. Wilmington lost a heart breaker against Heidelberg on Saturday and hopes to bounce back for the season finale on Wednesday. Capital has won their previous two matches coming into Wednesdays contest.
The Coaches: Garyck Todd enters his second season as Wilmington's head men's lacrosse coach in 2023. The 2016 WC alumnus was a four-year member of the program and was a part of the team's first winning season (9-7) in 2015. A.J. Smith comes to Capital after most recently serving as the top assistant at Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia. Prior to his time with the Hornets, Smith spent time working with various programs at the Division II and III levels, as well as on the high school and club circuit as well.
The Players: Garrett Murrell has been rock solid all year for the Quakers scoring 21 goals and 12 assists. Freshman Jacob Snyder has scored 16 goals in his inaugural campaign scoring twice in each of the last two games. Mason Spaulding has scored 58 goals and seven assists this season for Capital.
The Seniors: Justen Shaw, Garrett Murrell, Andy Kathman, Sam Eastes and Austin Bondurant will play their final game in a Wilmington College uniform.
