WILMINGTON, Ohio - Wednesday's contest against Anderson may have been postponed but head coach Garyck Todd had plenty of excitement as he witnessed the birth of his daughter, Hallie Joann Todd, Wednesday afternoon. Wilmington will travel to Steubenville to face the Franciscan University Barons on Saturday at 1:00.

The Teams: Wilmington and Franciscan. Wilmington is looking to play a full game at a consistently high level. Playing 10 underclassmen means accepting a bit of uneven play early hoping it pays dividends late. Franciscan defeated Hiram 10-9 in their first game of the season.

The Coaches: Garyck Todd enters his second season as Wilmington's head men's lacrosse coach in 2023. The 2016 WC alumnus was a four-year member of the program and was a part of the team's first winning season (9-7) in 2015. Peter Rosaschi has been at the helm of the Franciscan men's lacrosse program since its inception in 2013. The 2023 season will be his 11th year as Head Coach of the Barons. Under Rosaschi, eleven players have earned all-conference accolades and two have won major awards from the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference. Jonas McCaig was named the AMCC Offensive Player of the Year and Jerome Harkins was the Defensive Player of the Year in 2018.

The Players: Senior Justen Shaw has scored in each of the first two matches and has three total goals on the year. Seniors Garrett Murrell and Austin Bondurant have combined for three goals.  Sophomore goalkeeper Cody Everly is saving a blistering 60% of opponent shots. Samuel Marshall scored three goals in the season opener for the Barons. Nicholas Sando, Gavin Cook and Alexander Dhabliwawa each contributed two goals in the Barons victory over Hiram.
