WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's lacrosse team hosts the Marietta Pioneers in the first Ohio Athletic Conference home game for the Quakers. First faceoff will take place in Williams Stadium at 1:00 on Saturday.

The Teams: Wilmington and Marietta. Wilmington (3-6, 0-2) is still searching for their first OAC victory. In the previous two matches the Quaker offense ground to a halt, producing just four total goals in two games. Marietta (4-4, 2-0) is enjoying a three game winning streak after taking down Mount Union and Heidelberg to start their conference slate. 

The Coaches: Garyck Todd enters his second season as Wilmington's head men's lacrosse coach in 2023. The 2016 WC alumnus was a four-year member of the program and was a part of the team's first winning season (9-7) in 2015. Ben Suchomma begins his first season as the head men's lacrosse coach at Marietta College in 2022-23. He is the Pioneers' second head coach since the program was relaunched in 2019. Suchommas comes to Marietta after serving as the assistant coach at Grove City College for the last four seasons.

The Players: Marietta and Wilmington each have a premier offensive player, the Quakers Justen Shaw has scored 23 goals and Chase Franklin has scored 24 goals for the Pioneers. Garrett Murrell and Jacob Snyder provide the secondary scoring punch for the Quakers, these two have combined for 28 goals.
