TIFFIN, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's lacrosse team fell in heartbreaking fashion as a furious second-half comeback comes up just short in a 7-6 defeat at the hands of the Heidelberg University in Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) action on Saturday afternoon.

The first quarter was a low-scoring affair with Austin Bondurant scoring the lone Quaker goal midway through the frame. WC would be held scoreless for the remainder of the first half and go into the break down 5-1. Benjamin Evans scored two first half goals for Heidelberg.

In the second half, the Quakers dominated the Student Princes. Austin Bondurant, Austin Pagett and Jacob Snyder each scored for the Quakers in the second half. Andrew Chevrette assisted on two Quaker goals in the second half. The offensive explosion came up just short as Jacob Morgan put the game out of reach for Wilmington with a fourth-quarter score. Heidelberg would go on to win by a final of 7-6.

Wilmington recovered 34 ground balls compared to just 22 for Heidelberg. The Quakers also held the edge in faceoffs won, 9-6.

Up next, Wilmington hosts Capital University on Senior Night on Wednesday.
