WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's lacrosse team will face the Baldwin Wallace yellowjackets in a special Friday afternoon matchup in Berea at 1:00.
The Teams: Wilmington and Baldwin Wallace. Wilmington was forced to postpone Wednesday evenings match against Ohio Northern due to weather concerns. The extra time off may serve the Quakers well as they try to get back on course offensively. Baldwin Wallace is 9-2 this season, after an 0-2 start they have ripped off nine straight victories.
The Coaches: Garyck Todd enters his second season as Wilmington's head men's lacrosse coach in 2023. The 2016 WC alumnus was a four-year member of the program and was a part of the team's first winning season (9-7) in 2015. Tony Tatro finished his first season as head men's lacrosse coach at Baldwin Wallace University in 2021-22. In his first season, he led the Yellow Jackets to a 14-4 record and an OAC Regular Season Champion with a perfect 9-0 record. He also led the team to the OAC Tournament Championship game. He earned his first OAC Coach of the Year Award for the 2022 season.
The Players: Garrett Murrell has shouldered much of the offensive burden scoring 18 goals and registering 10 assists. The prolific Yellowjacket offense is led by freshman Bennet Trout who has scored 23 goals this season. Senior Jonas Aquila has scored 17 goals and registered 11 assists for Baldwin Wallace.
