Snyder Scores in Ohio Athletic Conference Season Opener as Men's Lacrosse Falls to John Carroll

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's lacrosse team opened Ohio Athletic Conference play at John Carroll University on Saturday. The Quakers fell to the Blue Streaks by a final score of 26-2.

The Quakers fell behind early as they surrendered 10 first quarter goals. Andrew Chevrette was able to find the back of the net as the buzzer sounded to break the shut out and send Wilmington to the second quarter down 10-1. The Wilmington defense stiffened in the second quarter as it held the Blue Streaks to six goals. Freshman Jacob Snyder added to his season total of 10 goals with a score in the second quarter. John Carroll would go in to the half leading 16-2. 

John Carroll scored the 10 goals in the second half to secure the conference win. The Blue Streaks won the ground ball battle 34-22 while the Quakers caused six turnovers and won nine face-offs.

Up next, Wilmington will travel to Otterbein University to take on the Cardinals Wednesday at 7 p.m.
