WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's lacrosse team opens its 2023 season at home against Hanover College on Saturday. First face-off is slated for 1 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington and Hanover. The Quakers are looking to improve upon a 2-15 record from a season ago. The Panthers were 10-5 during 2022, but are looking to rebound from a 21-4 defeat at the hands of Centre College to open the 2023 campaign.

The Coaches: Garyck Todd enters his second season as Wilmington's head men's lacrosse coach in 2023. The 2016 WC alumnus was a four-year member of the program and was a part of the team's first winning season (9-7) in 2015. He previously served as the head coach at Pickerington Central High School for the past three seasons. Jeff Roberts is in his fifth season as Hanover's head coach. He's guided the Panthers to a 32-21 record over the previous four seasons.

The Players: Wilmington returns All-Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) goalkeeper Cody Everly, who set the program record for saves in a season with 246 during his freshman campaign. The Quakers' offense is also bolstered by the return of Justen Shaw and Austin Bondurant, who combined for 36 total points in 2022. Zach Stone scored two goals for the Panthers in their season-opener.
