WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's lacrosse team will travel to Earlham Wednesday for the latest entry in the Quaker Bowl Rivalry. First face-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
The Teams: Wilmington and Earlham. Wilmington played Hanover College tightly in the first half before ultimately coming up short in the home opener. Earlham played will in their first game of the season recording a 15-3 victory over Concordia Chicago.
The Coaches: Garyck Todd enters his second season as Wilmington's head men's lacrosse coach in 2023. The 2016 WC alumnus was a four-year member of the program and was a part of the team's first winning season (9-7) in 2015. He previously served as the head coach at Pickerington Central High School for the past three seasons. Taylor Lanzillo was named Interim Head men's lacrosse coach on August 8, 2022. Lanzillo joined the staff at the conclusion of the 2022 season as an assistant coach after completing a graduate assistant program at his alma mater, North Greenville University.
The Players: Justen Shaw starts off his senior campaign with two goals picking up right where he left off his prolific 21'/'22 season. Senior Garrett Murrell also scored in the season opener. Earlham freshman Robert Gift and junior Sam Sargent each scored four goals.
