(WESTERVILLE, Ohio) – The Ohio Athletic Conference announced their Baseball Athletes of the Week this afternoon and for the first time in his career, sophomore Carter Scheben was honored.
Scheben is coming off a four-game stretch where he was 12-16 with two homeruns, two doubles, one triple, 10 RBI, three walks, and six runs scored. However, for last week alone, he was 7-8 with one double, one triple, one homerun, five RBI, two walks, and four runs scored. During these four games in the field, he had five putouts with no errors in left field.
During the Quakers first game of the week against Mount St. Joseph University, Scheben was 3-4 with one homerun, one double, three RBI, one walk, and two runs scored. In their final game of the season at Earlham College, Scheben went 4-4 with one triple, two RBI, one walk, and two runs scored.
Scheben ended the season with a team-high three triples, was second on the team with seven doubles, and tied for second on the team with two homeruns. He also led the team with a .333 batting average, .480 on base percentage, .538 slugging percentage, and 27 walks. He was tied for third on the team with 16 runs scored, had 31 hits, and drove in 17 runs.
