(WILMINGTON, Ohio) – On Friday night, April 26th, the Wilmington College athletics department hosted the first annual Quaker Bash fundraiser. The bash is a dinner-auction where the proceeds go to support Wilmington College Athletics. Also joining the festivities was legendary Cincinnati Bengals kicker Jim Breech as the event's special guest.

Breech talked about his time in Wilmington at Bengals training camp during a live interview. He also spoke at length about his kicking tryouts for both the California Golden Bears and Cincinnati Bengals. Breech was full of energy and left the crowd wanting to hear more about his legendary career.

"I was pleased with how our first year went" Wilmington College Senior Director of Athletics Bill Wilson said. "Hopefully the word gets out on how much fun the event was and the positive impact it will have on our student-athletes."

There was both a silent auction and live auction throughout the night, along with a barbecue buffet style dinner. Such items in the auction included Cincinnati Reds tickets, Ohio State basketball and hockey tickets, guided fishing trips, trips to Gatlinburg and Nashville, and much more.

The night was a great success for the Wilmington College athletics department with a lot of positive feedback from those in attendance. The Quakers look forward to hosting the Quaker Bash for years to come.
